Gutter & spouting cleaning in Auckland & Northland

When water spills over the spouting in a downpour, the leaves and silt have often been building up for months.

We clear debris from accessible gutters, check the outlets and discuss any downpipe flushing needed. Tell us where the water is overflowing and we’ll put together a clear quote for your roofline.

A proper look inside the roofline

What does a gutter clean include?

A gutter can look tidy from the ground while leaves and fine silt are sitting inside it. We remove accessible build-up and look at the outlets where water enters the downpipes.

The quote sets out the gutters we can reach, whether flushing is needed and what happens to the debris. If we notice visible damage or an area needing repair, we’ll point it out rather than treat cleaning as a fix for it.

  • Leaves and roof debris
  • Moss, soil and plant growth
  • Silt around gutter outlets
  • Accessible spouting runs
  • Downpipe openings and flow checks
  • Debris tidy-up agreed in the quote
Good to know: Clearing an accessible downpipe is different from repairing a buried stormwater drain. If water still backs up after the gutter is clear, the drainage system may need a separate inspection.

Choose the work you need

Inside the gutter or outside the spouting?

These are often called the same thing, but they solve different problems. Tell us whether water flow, appearance or both matter to you.

For blockages and overflow

Internal gutter clearing

We remove leaves, sludge and other accessible debris from inside the spouting. We can discuss flushing the gutters and accessible downpipes to check the water path.

This is the service to ask about when water is spilling over an edge or plants are growing from the roofline.

For the visible finish

External spouting wash

The outside faces of gutters and downpipes can collect dirt, cobwebs and streaks. Washing those visible surfaces improves how the roofline looks.

It does not remove a blockage inside. Ask us to quote external washing alongside the internal clean if you want both.

Gutter cleaning questions

How do I know if my gutters need cleaning?

Water spilling over the edge, plants in the spouting, visible leaf build-up or a downpipe that is not draining are common signs. Gutters can also hold silt without looking blocked from the ground.

Does gutter cleaning include the downpipes?

We check the accessible outlets and discuss any downpipe flushing in your quote. A blockage further down an underground stormwater line may need a drainage specialist, so tell us where you have noticed the problem.

Is washing the outside of the spouting included?

Internal clearing and washing the visible outside are different tasks. Tell us if you want both and we’ll set out the areas and price in the quote.

How often should gutters be cleaned?

It depends on nearby trees, roof shape and how quickly debris builds up. Check them after heavy leaf fall and before the wetter months. Homes beneath trees may need attention more often than exposed homes with little leaf litter.

Can you clean gutters with gutter guards fitted?

Often, but the guard type and how it is fixed affect access. Dirt and leaves can still collect under some guards. Send a photo when enquiring so we can discuss what can be cleaned and whether the guards need to be moved.

What if my gutters still overflow after cleaning?

Debris is only one possible cause. A damaged or poorly sloped gutter, limited capacity or a blocked underground drain can also affect flow. We can point out visible concerns, but repairs and underground drainage work need separate assessment.

How much does gutter and spouting cleaning cost?

Price depends on the length and height of the gutters, access, how much debris is inside and whether you want downpipe checks or external washing. Send us the address and a few photos for a quote.
